Mani Mani Manigondhu Daara…was super hit song of Janumadha Jodi and Ondhu Muthina Kathe was the popular film of Dr Rajakumar. Now we have ‘Shabda Mani’ – it is about the pearls like soldiers according to director cum producer Renukumar.
Hearing the sound of battle field so many soldiers have left us. According to me they are like ‘Muthina Mani’. So I have named the film dedicating for them as ‘Shabda Mani’.
There are three important points which Renukumar outlined after the press meet sitting at the ‘Oni’ of Green House restaurant.
First one is the Rs.50000 per day remuneration for Dr Girish Karnad for seven days he has taken his call sheet with great respect for the Jnanapeeth award winner. After leaving the five pages story in the house of Dr Karnad the director Renukumar thought he might not accept. One thing he remembered is that he had written the script keeping only Dr Karnad in mind. When he was about to reach home in a gap of one hour Dr Karnad called up saying he is doing the role because of his observations minus the vengeance. Dr Karnad also checked whether it is going to hurt any of the religion and given his nod.
Actress Shruthi on Rs.5 lakh remuneration is another boon for my film and she has worked for that payment for 13 days says Renukumar.
Thirdly the road to reach the hill at Hosahalli in Sakleshpur is pared by Renukumar investing Rs.1.50 lakhs. There are about 20 houses in the village all of them are finding it difficult to reach the hill top for the temple. Renukumar using this place that has a wonderful view made the way to reach the temple.
What is this ‘Shabdamani’? it is on the need of educated youths to join the Army. The mother should imbibe the quality of this serving nation to the child he says quoting the examples of many forward countries.
The song Vandematharam Ondhe Manavam….he has made it in 26 languages and several writers and singers have contributed for this song. It will be released separately as video song he says.
Dr Girish Karnad is impressed with the security to India that is no necessary only from a soldier of this country. He has worked for eight days for this film. There is no issue of vengeance in this film he says.
Harsha first big role after paltry roles is happy because of Dr Karnad and Shruthi in the cast. Actress Sushma of Cindrella and Hori plays the wife of a soldier Harsha.
G Srinivas is the cameraman and Shyam Shimoga has penned the dialogues. Ramnarayan and Renukar are the lyricists. Nanjundi is the stunt director, Five Star Ganesh handled the choreography and the film is edited by KD Ravi.
Nisha, Renukumar, Kashi, Sithil, Somanna and Vijayasarathy are in the supporting cast of ‘Shabdamani’.
